Pishin (sometimes spelled Pishin Black Kush) comes from high-altitude, harsh mountain environments in Balochistan, Pakistan. Local farmers have cultivated it for generations, often alongside similar Afghan landraces. Some accounts describe it as a pure Afghan-style indica or a stabilized selection involving lines like Maruf Indica crossed with black phenotypes (e.g., from Andarab), then continued in Balochistan. 

This unusual scent comes from its complex terpene profile, which includes high levels of myrcene and terpinolene.
